K1 Sport

Epic Kayaks returns to its early roots in ICF sprint racing with the all-new K1 Sport!

Masters-class racers and fitness paddlers will appreciate the blend of speed and stability. It is also perfect for the developing sprint racer as a transitional kayak before moving on to an elite racing K1. Designed by Epic founder and sprint kayaking legend Greg Barton for the intermediate level K1 paddlers of all sizes, the K1 Sport has similar stability to the Epic V10 surfski. It has more buoyancy compared to many K1s, thus providing better performance in rough water conditions - when the wind kicks up on a lake or harbour, or paddling class 1-2 rapids (with appropriate spray skirt and requisite skills).

The K1 Sport is smaller than a surfski, making it lighter in weight, and easier to store and transport. This makes it perfect for fitness paddlers wanting a quick, no-hassle workout. Available with surfski-style pedals (as standard in Australia) or conventional tiller bar steering (upon request).

The seat and foot brace are adjustable, fitting paddlers from approximately 4'10 to 6'6" in height (1.47 to 1.98m). Comes standard with under- stern rudder, sized for sprint and marathon racing.

Note: The K1 Sport is NOT designed for large open water conditions such as ocean paddling.
